Shirakura Valley

  • Nature
Carved out by the Tenryugawa River, the Shirakura Valley extends for about 10 kilometers. The central part of the valley is known for being one of Enshu's best fall foliage spots. The red leaves of the momiji and kaede trees are a colorful backdrop to the uniquely-shaped rocks and waterfall. Nothing compares to the sight of fallen leaves gently flowing along the mountain stream. The season when fresh green leaves begin to bud is also superb.
