Daifukuji Temple

Upon entering the Nio-mon Gate, Daifukuji Temple has a circular garden with a pond on a mountain slope. From October to February, visitors can see cherry blossoms in full bloom. One of the temple's specialties is Daifukuji Natto (fermented soybeans). This product was served annually to the Imagawa, Toyotomi, and Tokugawa shogunates. Daifukuji Temple is one of five temples that make up the Kohoku Gozan (The Five Temples North of the Lake).
