Nakatajima Sand Dunes

  • Nature
The Nakatajima Sand Dunes is one of the three largest dunes in Japan. You can see fumon, or wind-wrought patterns, created by the wind on the sand. This is especially visible on mornings with stronger winter winds. Visitors can also observe the sea embankment extending east to west from Tenryu River's mouth to Lake Hamana's channel (Imagirikuchi) for 17.5 kilometers.
