When talking about winter in Japan, many people might imagine the snow-capped Mt. Fuji, or skiers and snowboarders. Compared to Osaka or Tokyo, Hamamatsu is located in a mild climate zone, with nearly no snowfall. The citizens rarely own snow boots or tires, so visitors will be experiencing a quite different scenery here. A snowfall may occur once in a few years; when this happens, it wreaks havoc in the city. It might be fun to visit some other place with snow scenery, and then come to Hamamatsu.
