Speaking of Hamamatsu City Kanzanji, it is famous for the Hamamatsu City Zoo and the amusement park Hamanako Pal Pal, but the marine sports season is also here and the area is becoming more and more crowded.
We spoke to Mr. Toshitaka Niimura, the representative of “Phantom Marine Kodama,” which operates a pleasure boat and marine leisure business at Lake Hamana Marina, about “parasailing,” which is popular in overseas resorts.
Parasailing is a marine leisure activity in which a person attaches a parachute and floats into the sky while being towed by a motor boat. Floating high in the sky like kite flying, this activity allows you to enjoy both the sky and the sea (Lake Hamana), and can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages.
When I spoke to Mr. Niimura, he said that there have been times when people over 90 years old have flown on the flight. More than 80% of the participants were first-time participants, and they said it was easy to enjoy, like swinging in a park. We often receive comments such as “I feel like a bird when I hear the sound of the wind.”
Parasailing is a leisure activity that can be seen in luxury resorts overseas and in Okinawa, but parasailing at Lake Hamana has advantages that are second to none.
The high flight rate has been established due to the combination of Japan’s top-class sunshine hours, topography, and Lake Hamana conditions. Although it is an outdoor leisure activity that is easily influenced by natural conditions, it is said that more than 50 people may fly in one day.
There is another secret behind why some of our customers say, “Honestly, I don’t need to go overseas to experience parasailing.”
It seems that in overseas resort areas, flight altitudes are often low in order to emphasize turnover rate. In order to be on par with famous resorts around the world, Mr. Niimura devised a 200-meter rope that would allow him to fly at a 45-degree angle to a height of nearly 100 meters. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the open feeling of a vast panoramic view of the southern tip of the Southern Alps.
The actual flight is 7 to 8 minutes, but many participants seem to experience it as much longer.
Even though the number of tourists to Kanzanji Temple has decreased due to the coronavirus pandemic, Mr. Niimura says that he will continue to maintain the temple so that people can come anytime. Phantom Marine Kodama’s high level of safety and marine technology are also reasons why it is trusted.
Last year, we created the world’s first flight based on a request from a customer who wanted to take their dog with them on a flight! ? A parasailing business in which people fly with dogs has started at Lake Hamana and is becoming a hot topic of conversation.
Only small dogs that fit in special shoulder bags are allowed to participate, but they have a good reputation for enjoying walks in the sky, and some celebrity dogs who have appeared in TV commercials have also come. An aerial photo of you with your dog will be a memorable one.
There is no need to worry about “Isn’t it possible to do this without a special license course or license?” Children as young as 3 years old can try it out without a license. In addition to parasailing, you can also enjoy speed boats and yachts on the same day from the Marine Gate Boat Terminal inside Lake Hamana Pal Pal. (Parasailing will go smoothly if you reserve in advance, as the ship may be on and off the ship for inspection and maintenance.)
Another reason for its popularity is that you can easily enjoy it without getting wet while wearing your everyday clothes, as you can take off and land on the boat.
This year, when it is difficult to go to overseas resorts due to the coronavirus pandemic, why not enjoy marine leisure at Kanzanji Temple in Hamamatsu City?

A feast of aged sake and French cuisine. Taste a new project that overturns the common sense of Shizuoka local sake!
In Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City, there is a 100% natural wine cellar made from a reused unfinished railway tunnel. The entrance to the cellar that suddenly appears in the midst of the great nature of Tenryu has a mystical atmosphere that makes you feel like you have wandered into the world of a story. “Hamamatsu Wine Cellar” is a place only known among wine lovers. .
I heard that a new initiative was being taken at this facility, and on that day I visited it with freelance announcer Minori Konuma, Umi no Lake HAMANA Jenne, Ogawa Ayano, and Okubo Yuna.
Enjoy delicious fish in Sakamachi. Totoichi’s proud “eel sashimi” and Hamamatsu’s eating out culture
“People in Hamamatsu talk condescendingly, or rather reservedly, about local industry and culture.”
During my training at a top-class restaurant in Kyoto, I was surprised to find that they used a lot of ingredients from Enshu and Hamamatsu, such as shrimp potatoes, eel, shinko from Lake Hamana, conger eel, and melons for dessert, and I realized the charm of the local area from the outside. Mr. Kentaro Nakamura, the owner of Totoichi, said that he did.
Among the ingredients that are shipped to Tokyo and Kyoto but are not actively consumed locally, we will focus on seafood, where freshness affects the taste.
“When I want to eat fish, I feel like it’s a waste that the only option is a sushi restaurant, so I decided to open a restaurant in Hamamatsu that specializes in fish.”
Feel the breeze of Hamamatsu/Lake Hamana! Let’s go around on a rental bike ② Touring around the “dragon”
I went on a touring tour using YSP Hamamatsu’s rental bike in the summer and it was so much fun and unforgettable that I thought I’d go touring somewhere nearby again! That’s what we talked about.
I decided to go on a touring trip with a theme, so I decided to go on a motorcycle trip with the title “Touring around the dragons of Lake Okuhamana.” I would like to introduce that situation.
