This time, I participated in the industrial promotion festival “Araijan” held in Arai-cho, Kosai City, so I would like to introduce you to the event!
An industrial festival held by the Araicho Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the concept of “touring around the city” around the checkpoint.
“Jan” is the dialect of Arai-machi, and “Araijan” means “It’s a Arai.”
This is a popular once a year event for Arai Town residents!
In addition to enjoying a stroll while experiencing the history and culture of temples and historic sites, local shops were lined with items for sale, making Arai Town a lively place.
Araijan’s venues were Arai Sekisho, Nakamachi Park, and various stores in Arai-machi, where food and drink sales and experience events were held!
The event was held with the aim of encouraging visitors from both within and outside of Arai Town to rediscover the history and culture of the town, and included merchandise sales and stage performances.
Also, a stamp rally was being held to walk around Arai Town and visit nine checkpoints, so I decided to participate too!
The event was held with the aim of encouraging visitors from both within and outside of Arai Town to rediscover the history and culture of the town, and included merchandise sales and stage performances.
The first place we visited was the Arai Sekisho.
Inside the Arai Sekisho, the “Arai Test” was being held by the social research club of Arai High School.
“Arai Test” is a quiz about Arai-cho, Kosai City, where the old townscape still remains, centered around the Arai Checkpoint.◎
Unfortunately, this is the last time the “Arai Certification” will take place…
Having these opportunities to learn more about Arai Town will make you realize how interesting Arai Town is!
On the premises, products from Kiso Town, Nagano Prefecture, which has a friendship city relationship with Arai Town, were also sold.
I bought apple butter and red turnip pickles here◎
I’m looking forward to eating it!
Kiso Town, like Arai Town, has a checkpoint.
Every year, elementary school students alternately visit Arai-cho and Kiso-cho, where they deepen their friendships by experiencing whitebait frying and ski lessons.
The next place I visited was Takiya Hardware Store!
Here, Mr. Sasaki of the NPO DIGtag, which we introduced the other day, and the Arai Town Information Dissemination PR team had a booth.
The Arai Town Information Dissemination PR Team is an organization that disseminates tourist information about Arai Town and creates guide maps.
In addition, we have created an “Ieyasu Sugoroku MAP” tailored to “Araijan.”
We have posted coupons that can be used at stores opening in Sugoroku and Araijan, where you can play and learn about Ieyasu and the history of the Arai-machi area.
On the day of Araijan, we saw many people walking around carrying this flyer!
At Araijan, we held a can badge making workshop, set up Gacha Gacha machines containing Araicho-related goods, and sold cotton candy and biscotti.
At the can badge making workshop, local children draw their favorite pictures and create their one-of-a-kind can badge!
It was a fun workshop that anyone could do as it was easy to operate!
Also, “cotton candy”, which is unique to the event!
A cotton candy craftsman was serving colorful cotton candy to many children ◎
Takiya Hardware Store also provided coffee for junior high school students.
The name is “Rinrin Coffee”
I’m amazed at the energy that junior high school students have to take part in these activities!
We had a lot of interaction with adults and children of the same generation, and it was a wonderful sight to see!
Moving to another location, Kakikoya Nakamachi store also sells yakisoba and frankfurters that are unique to the event.
There was also an event where if you purchased a product, you could try a ring toss experience and win wonderful prizes!
I took the opportunity to buy my favorite frankfurter and try the ring toss!
I was able to get the product◎
At Nakamachi Park, the Araimachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Enshu Shinkin Bank, and others are holding events!
I was particularly interested in the experience of operating an excavator car, which was held by the Industrial Construction Committee.
Children actually operated a shovel car and transferred the ball (with adult assistance).
I think these vehicles are a dream for children.
Apparently, this experience was held last year as well, and being able to experience things that you wouldn’t normally get to do is one of the charms of “Araijan”!
When I returned to the Arai Sekisho, where I first visited, I heard some strange sounds!
I imitate the tapping, but it makes a dull sound…
Where does the beautiful sound go?
However, after trying it out a few times, I was able to get a solid sound!
It was a great experience for me to play an instrument that I don’t usually see.
“Araijan” has enlivened Arai Town in various places.
At the “Araijan” venue, we could see many smiling faces, from children to adults.
I would like to see this scene again next year.
I’m already looking forward to the event!
[Marine Sports] “Pedal SUP & Kayak” that can be enjoyed in casual clothes makes its debut in the Tokai region
When it comes to activities at Lake Hamana, marine sports enjoyed on the lake are popular, but did you know that new marine sports will be introduced in July 2023?
That is the “Pedal SUP & Kayak” that we will introduce this time.
“Pedal SUP & Kayak” is a cutting-edge activity that is easy to enjoy in casual clothes and has the exhilarating feeling of moving smoothly across the lake like cycling.
This time, I actually experienced pedal kayaking, so I will report on its charm!
Sausage making experience where you can learn about passion and commitment
In the Hamamatsu/Lake Hamana area, there are many people who share their enthusiasm through a variety of experiences. Is this a challenge that comes from a “Yaramaika spirit”?
Today, Sea Lake HAMANA Jenne and her friends came to the butcher shop “Tonkii” in Hosoe, Chuo Ward, Hamamatsu City. Just from the name, it seems like you can eat delicious meat.
This time, we started with a sausage making experience. After putting on an apron and getting ready to cook, the president first explained about Tonkii’s meat. The president enthusiastically tells us about the meat, what kind of feed is given to the pigs, and what kind of meat is produced from it. The idea behind this experience was that he wanted to share with the people who eat the food things that only those close to him knew about. Jenne and the others listened to his enthusiasm with serious eyes.
[Yamaya Soy Sauce’s Hamanatto] Fermented food without food additives, preservatives, or chemical seasonings! The secret of Tokugawa Ieyasu’s longevity? !
Hamanatto is a fermented food made by fermenting soybeans with koji mold and aging them for over a year.
Although it is called “natto,” it is actually a member of the miso family. It is said to have a high antioxidant effect, about 1.7 times that of regular stringy natto, and about 20 times that of firm tofu.
The antioxidant properties of Hamanatto are said to have the effect of “suppressing active oxygen that has negative effects on health” and “supporting immunity.” It is said that it may have played a role in the secret to Tokugawa Ieyasu’s longevity!
You can eat it as is or use it as a seasoning.
There are many ways to enjoy Hamanatto depending on how you arrange it.
This month’s recommendation is “Yamaya Soy Sauce”, which continues to make “Hama-natto” using the traditional method🍚
