At Hamamatsu Flower Park on the shores of Lake Hamana, one million illuminations decorate the park from late November every year. This season will be held from November 23, 2022 (Wednesday/Holiday) to January 8, 2023 (Sunday).

Illuminations light up on the shores of Lake Hamana in winter!

About 5 minutes by car from Kanzanji Onsen. Hamamatsu Flower Park is a flower theme park located on the shore of Lake Hamana.

The garden holds a flower illumination event from late November. One million bulbs of illumination surround the park in soft light.

Once you step into the park, you will enter a world of flowers, illuminations, and music.

During the illumination period, 10 original songs created by Jam9, a pop artist from Hamamatsu City, will fill the park.

One song is played inside the wisteria trellis tunnel, three songs are played inside the greenhouse, and six songs are played in other zones within the park. It is popular because it gives you a feeling of winter and Christmas.

In addition, original music by Toyono Suzuki, a composer and arranger from Hamamatsu, will be used as BGM for the large fountain show.

There is a large illumination of Mt. Fuji near the Flower Train platform. We recommend looking up from the fountain side as well as from the welcome garden side.

Tunnel of light through wisteria trellis with beautiful gradation

The illumination venue is an area centered around the fountain pond. You can walk around the area while aiming for the large greenhouse, Crystal Palace.

If you start from the Welcome Garden and want to go through the light tunnel of the wisteria trellis and then head to the large greenhouse, go counterclockwise. I take this route every time.

The length of the wisteria trellis tunnel of light is approximately 60 meters. It is located between the White Garden and the overlooking hill, forming a gentle arc.

The gradation of colorful LEDs looks like a rainbow! You may find yourself exclaiming with admiration.

Of course, you can take commemorative photos inside the tunnel of light. The three members of Sea Lake HAMANA Jenne also have smartphones in hand and say cheese♪

On the way from the wisteria trellis to the large greenhouse, there are popular photo spots such as a sleigh pulled by reindeer and a giant mosaic culture called “Friends of the Forest.” The photos taken by the three Jenne here will be introduced later in the article.

This area is one of the most popular spots in the park, as there are illuminated animal sculptures.

Impressed by a real fir tree! Christmas in the large greenhouse!

The decorations inside the large greenhouse, Crystal Palace, change every year to the delight of visitors. The greenhouse is the place in the park where you can enjoy the Christmas spirit the most.

The photos above are from 2018 and 2019.

Just looking at the warm and gentle atmosphere, including the Christmas tree decorated with lights and ornaments, snowmen, and Santa Claus, will make you feel warm. I’m looking forward to seeing this season’s decorations♪

A real fir tree is in the center of the greenhouse.

This season’s keynotes are gold and silver. This is a tree that gives you a sense of splendor in its solemnity.

The tree, which has an overwhelming presence, is 8 meters tall. From a little distance and from up close. Please take a look at the real fir tree.

Christmas concerts are held in the same greenhouse on Saturdays and Sundays in December.

The event will be held twice a day, from 15:00 and from 16:00, each lasting 30 minutes. The programs vary depending on the day, including performances by piano, violin, flute, etc., as well as choral performances.

Make wonderful memories of the Christmas season at Hamamatsu Flower Park!

Surrounded by lights and music...the huge fountain show is a must-see!

The large fountain show during the illumination period is filled with lights and music.

If you hear music coming from the fountain pond while walking around the park, it’s a sign that the big fountain show is about to begin. The fountain pond is located in a depression in the center of the venue, so you don’t have to rush to move.

It’s nice to be able to walk around and admire it from any position you like.

There are a total of three songs played during the large fountain show. The content of the show varies depending on the BGM.

Piano songs with impressive gentle melodies, grand orchestral songs, and jazz-like songs. All of the songs are melodies that are befitting of Hamamatsu, the music capital, and allow you to feel the charm of the park.

The large fountain show will be held for about 6 minutes every hour and 30 minutes from 17:00 until 30 minutes before closing.

This season, the stairs are lit up so you can go down close to the fountain pond, so you can enjoy the impressive movement of the water.

Photo spots are everywhere

There are photo spots scattered throughout the venue.

The photo above shows flowers and illuminations of a swan parent and child whose arrangement is slightly different every year. Rainbow arches are here this season.

Should you shoot from the front or from an angle? Some people seem to be having trouble deciding where to stand.

The popular angel wings are still going strong since their first appearance a few years ago. It’s located overlooking the fountain pond, so why not time it to take photos during the big fountain show?

Sea Lake HAMANA Jenne and her friends are sitting smiling on a swing-like bench set up in the mosaic culture “Friends of the Forest.”

Only during the illumination period can you take photos with the magical mosaic culture of bears and deer.

The height of a bear is 7 meters and that of a deer is 3.9 meters. The height of other mosaic cultures is also over 1 meter.

Sleigh rides pulled by reindeer are also very popular every year. The great thing about it is that you can actually sit inside the sled.

The mosaic culture “Friends of the Forest” and the reindeer-pulled sleigh are on the way from the wisteria trellis to the large greenhouse, so if you are interested, don’t forget to check it out before going to the large greenhouse.

In addition to these, there are photo spots dotted around Hamamatsu Flower Park’s illumination venue, including large peacocks decorated with lights and animal light objects. Take a look around the park while listening to Jam9’s music!

Do you want to make it into soft cream? Or...? How you use your shopping coupons is up to you

Head counterclockwise from the Welcome Garden side to the large greenhouse and get in the Christmas spirit, then head over to the Welcome Garden through the glowing bridge, which I call “Hamamatsu Flower Park’s Golden Gate Bridge” in my heart.

Between this bridge and the fountain pond, there is an illumination of a yacht floating in the sea. Of course, you can also watch the big fountain show from here.

In the foreground is a yacht floating in the sea, and in the back is a large fountain show filled with lights and music. It is a little far from the fountain pond, but if you are interested, please click here.

*There are stairs at both ends of the bridge, so please be careful where you step.

In the welcome garden, the rose arch is also decorated with illuminations.

The admission fee for Hamamatsu Flower Park varies depending on the condition of the flowers, etc. During the illumination event, the admission fee for adults is 500 yen, which includes a 200 yen shopping coupon that can be used in the park (free admission for junior high school students and younger). .

This shopping ticket is valid only on the day you enter the park, so be sure to use it up before you go home. In addition to purchasing souvenirs, you can also use the money to eat and drink at cafes and restaurants within the park.

You can eat rose soft-serve ice cream in the warm large greenhouse, or try the Lusoma fruit sandwich at the cafe “Humming”.

It seems that some people use the money to eat at the restaurant “Flower Promenade” located inside the main entrance.

Please check the official website of the park for details on each store.
