Lake Hamana lies to the west of the coastal metropolis Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Once a true freshwater lake, Lake Hamana—now the tenth largest lake in Japan with a surface area of nearly 65 square kilometers (40 square miles)—turned brackish after a series of earthquakes and a tsunami in the year 1498. Cruise the vast Lake Hamana for a luxurious experience. Feel the cool breeze on your skin while taking in the sparkling lake waters. After the cruise, you will visit a location called “Sey” that is unique to Lake Hamana. Lake Hamana changes throughout the day with the tide conditions.
