Lake Hamana Festival: Highlights in March and April

The Lake Hamana Festival is an annual event spanning from March to June in the Lake Hamana area. This year, it will be held from March 21 to June 11, 2023. During this festival, visitors can enjoy flowers blooming at different times in spring at the gardens dotting the lake area.
Shortly after the festival opens from late March to early April, the cherry blossoms and tulips are in full bloom at Hamamatsu Flower Park. This garden consists of 1,300 cherry trees and some 500,000 tulips, offering a colorful scenery that’s simply stunning.
In addition to Somei Yoshino cherry trees—the most famous sakura variety—you can see several cherry tree varieties planted in the garden. Since each variety showcases its blossoms at different times, you can enjoy an extended cherry blossom season.
